The Bangalore Golf Course is located in the Eagleton Golf Village and is a KGA course. This course was founded in 1876 but was later redesigned by Peter Thomson. It is now an eighteen hole, PAR 71 golf course. For the ladies the distance is 5,414 yards while the distance for the gentlemen is 6,703 yards.
This golf course is the second oldest golf course that India has to offer. In the beginning the course had only browns but these have since been converted to greens. The lack of water in the area means there are not many water hazards to deal with but you might have to deal with a crow picking up a ball and mistaking it for an egg. This is where the Bangalore Golf Course got its logo which is a crow holding a ball in its beak.
While the course might not offer many water hazards, it does have plenty of trees and ditches which can be tricky to deal with. The fairways are usually pretty dry and sandy but the greens are always lush and the care taker keeps them meticulously manicured. You will have to plan out your drive because of the rocky areas which tend to make the ball veer off in the wrong direction. Large bunkers trap the greens, making the course more challenging. The course offers some beautiful scenery because of the various number of flowering trees. There are also palm trees and the great smelling eucalyptus trees which are planted along the fairway.
The Bangalore Golf Club is located in Karnataka which is India’s fifth largest city. The city offers scenic natural beauty and also has some splendid architecture. There are picturesque parks and avenues which are lined with trees. You will find great shopping in some of the bazaars and malls. You can shop for some of the finest silks in the world or visit some the shops that feature hand made souvenirs. You will also find several different cinemas and a great nightlife. Known as the Silicon Valley of India, this is a highly desirable tourist destination which you will surely enjoy.
